Running for: Area Chief Steward, SoS & Multi

I’m a 4th year Math student. Since stepping foot on campus, I have grown Math from a department with almost no union involvement to one with an active steward and CAT team. This process involved the organizing principles behind the BOLD slate, whether it was engaging students by connecting their personal and political struggles with that of our union, or highlighting how we are strongest through collective action, not silence. The math department has a high density of both international students and fellows, two groups that are under attack and could gain so much from the next contract. I have served as a Bargaining Committee member during the first contract fight, a Math Department Chief Steward, and currently, a School of Science Area Chief Steward. I am re-running for the position because I want to continue building up organizers in the School of Science and because my experience allows me to best represent these departments’ unique needs at the bargaining table.
